Baseball Recap: Carencro Comes Up Short

Carencro lost against Sulphur last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Carencro fell 6-3 to Sulphur. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ty Venable made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Tevontrey Jackson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Carencro's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Sulphur, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carencro will venture away from home to square off against Sam Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sulphur, they will square off against Rosepine at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
