Mepham never let their opponents score on Saturday. They breezed past the Glen Cove Big Red to the tune of 35-0. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Big Red are ranked 339th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Mepham, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average this season. As for Glen Cove, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Mepham will head out on the road to face off against Garden City on Saturday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Glen Cove, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Valley Stream Central at 7:00 p.m.
