Recap: Barstow Knights vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles
The Barstow Knights lost to the Summit Christian Academy Eagles back in February of 2023, but the Barstow Knights didn't allow the Summit Christian Academy Eagles the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Barstow pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Summit Christian Academy.
Max Rieger and Mike Thomas iii certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Rieger scored 27 points along with three steals, while Thomas iii scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Thomas iii is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Michael Ward was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Barstow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Summit Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barstow on the road again on Thursday and play against Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will challenge Van Horn at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Van Horn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Summit Christian Academy is ranked 74th).
