Basketball Game Preview: Payson Lions vs. Mountain View Bruins

The Payson Lions will square off against the Mountain View Bruins at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Payson will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Timpanogos on Friday. Payson took their contest with ease, bagging a 60-24 win over Timpanogos. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with Orem on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tigers 53-31. 53 seems to be a good number for the Bruins as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Payson is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Payson was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain View in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 56-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Payson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
