Preview: Fox Tech Buffaloes vs. Gonzales Apaches
After four games on the road, Fox Tech is heading back home. They will take on the Gonzales Apaches at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Fox Tech pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 86-62 defeat at the hands of La Vernia. Fox Tech has struggled against La Vernia recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Fox Tech had strong showings from Anthony Reyes, who scored 22 points, and Timothy Morgan, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reyes has scored all season. Jonah De la rosa was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 13 assists.
Gonzales suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Young Men's Leadership Academy by a score of 56-53.
Fox Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Gonzales, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19.
Fox Tech beat Gonzales 47-38 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Fox Tech repeat their success, or does Gonzales have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
