Baseball Recap: Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders vs. Kohler Blue Bombers

Sheboygan Area Lutheran had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-13 to make it nine. They lost 11-1 to the Kohler Blue Bombers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

As for Kohler, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Kohler's part, Jackson Petrie made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Petrie has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Petrie wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Hock, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Coming up, Sheboygan Area Lutheran will take on Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kohler, they will challenge Sevastopol at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Bombers are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
