Baseball Recap: Presbyterian Christian Takes a Loss

Presbyterian Christian extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 17-13 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the Hartfield Academy Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Thursday.

Presbyterian Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jet Henderson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

As for Hartfield Academy, their victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

On Hartfield Academy's side, not much got past Taylor Latham, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Presbyterian Christian off the board. Latham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

While Presbyterian Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
