Baseball Recap: Licking Heights Takes a Loss

Licking Heights lost against Watkins Memorial back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hornets fell 5-2 to the Warriors.

Brady Pennington made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Licking Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-1 record this season. As for Watkins Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Licking Heights will take on Utica at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Watkins Memorial, they will face off against Johnstown-Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Johnnies have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
