Preview: Lake View Wild Gators vs. Carvers Bay Bears
Lake View is 0-6 against Carvers Bay since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lake View Wild Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Carvers Bay Bears at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lake View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Dillon Christian 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Among those leading the charge was Jayden Ford, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Camden Umphries was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Carvers Bay strolled past Waccamaw with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-31.
Carvers Bay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenneth Bateman out in front who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenard Heyward, who scored 15 points.
Lake View's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Carvers Bay, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Lake View came up short against Carvers Bay in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 49-40. Can Lake View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
