Basketball Recap: Carter Nelson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Parkersburg Catholic over Fort Frye

Parkersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Frye Cadets. The game marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Parkersburg Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carter Nelson, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Randolph, who posted eight points and five boards.

Parkersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Fort Frye, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Parkersburg Catholic will square off against Williamstown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Williamstown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Fort Frye has already played their next matchup (against Meigs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
