The Foundation Christian Academy Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Gibbs Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foundation Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Foundation Christian Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Zephyrhills Christian Academy on Monday. Foundation Christian Academy blew past Zephyrhills Christian Academy 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Henry Salter and Gabe Messing were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Salter struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Messing pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Salter scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Messing went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Salter has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Caleb Hom and Luke Michie did most of the damage at the plate: Hom scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while Michie scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Michie a new career-high in RBI (three). Wyatt Buckwalter was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Gibbs hadn't done well against Southeast recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Gibbs walked away with a 6-3 win over Southeast. The Gladiators' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Foundation Christian Academy, Gibbs also got a great game from a two-way player: Joshua Thornley. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Thornley was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Thornley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Thornley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances.
Gibbs' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Foundation Christian Academy took their victory against Gibbs in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 19-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foundation Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
