Basketball Game Preview: Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix vs. Oakhaven Hawks

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering and Oakhaven are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering earned a 54-45 win over Fayette Academy. The 54-point effort marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Oakhaven was beaten by Memphis Home Education Association 82-53 two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Memphis Home Education Association are ranked 15th).

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Oakhaven, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering strolled past Oakhaven in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 57-42. Will Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering repeat their success, or does Oakhaven have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
