            Baseball Recap: Delta Saints vs. Esparto Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Delta won the last time they faced Esparto and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Saints blew past the Spartans 12-1. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
 Spencer Buckley and  Chase Parkinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Buckley   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Parkinson   struck out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. He has become a key player for Delta: the team is 5-2 when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. At bat,  Buckley  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  Parkinson  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and one  run. Parkinson is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's  played.
 In other batting news, Delta got a  massive  performance out of  Max Danila, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with six  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Danila is becoming a predictor of the Saints' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).  Ayden Barrett was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI.

 Delta  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .575. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in May of 2024.
Delta's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Esparto, their loss was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 0-9.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Delta is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Leroy Greene Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Esparto will  face off against  rival Elite  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday.
