Baseball Recap: Laytonville Warriors vs. Point Arena Pirates

Laytonville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 21-4 to the Point Arena Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 back in April.

As for Point Arena, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4. Considering they have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Point Arena's part, Aidan O'Neil made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. O'Neil was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Point Arena got a massive performance out of Cody Chavez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Laytonville will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Point Arena, they will head out to square off against Grace Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
