Basketball Recap: La Jolla Country Day Comes Up Short

La Jolla Country Day and Victory Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but La Jolla Country Day had to settle for second. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victory Christian Academy Knights.

Jayden Gray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Victory Christian Academy, shooting 73% from the field en route to 23 points and five assists. That's the most points Gray has posted since back in February of 2024. Isaiah Owens was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

La Jolla Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Victory Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season.

La Jolla Country Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-47 loss against Westchester on the 4th. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 59-42 defeat against St. Augustine on the 1st.
