The Strongsville Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Rocky River Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Strongsville came out on top against Medina on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Mustangs took their game against the Battling Bees 6-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Addison Heidenhoffer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Heidenhoffer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Hartman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stacey Mraz, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Rocky River hadn't done well against Lakewood recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Rangers. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Strongsville, Rocky River also got a great game from a two-way player: Reagan Kane. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Kane has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Maggie Heigle was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Maddie Sollars was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rocky River has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Strongsville, their record now sits at 6-9.
