Basketball Recap: Parkway Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Tamerah Peterson and Angelina Marchesi

Parkway Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 43-24 fall against the Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy Sentinels. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sentinels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the defeat, Parkway Christian had strong showings from Angelina Marchesi, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards, and Tamerah Peterson, who posted eight points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Peterson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Flora, who put up three points and five steals.

Parkway Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Parkway Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Academy of the Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Central Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
