Duxbury barely beat North Quincy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons blew past the Raiders 3-0 on Wednesday. The Dragons' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
One reason for the win was Duxbury's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-21, 25-17.
Duxbury found their leader in sophomore Maria Torres, who had 19 digs and two assists. Catherine Grimaldi also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Duxbury was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matchups.
Duxbury's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for North Quincy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.
