Villa Grove has gone 8-1 against Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Villa Grove is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Sullivan on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Redskins.

Meanwhile, Centennial hadn't done well against Mahomet-Seymour recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Chargers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.
Zoe Goodreau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Maiyah Flemons was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brylie Klaudt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Centennial pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Villa Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Villa Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Villa Grove's hitters?
Villa Grove took their win against Centennial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
