Football Game Preview: Ansley/Litchfield vs. Burwell

Ansley/Litchfield had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they will take on Burwell at 7:00 PM. Ansley/Litchfield will really need to gear up for this challenge, as Burwell will be their toughest opponent yet.

Things haven't been easy for Ansley/Litchfield, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They suffered a grim 16-50 defeat to Elm Creek. The state rankings had actually given Ansley/Litchfield a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Meanwhile, Burwell and South Loup -- ranked 27th and 55th in the MaxPreps national rankings, respectively -- squared off in a high-profile matchup. Burwell walked away with a 21-14 win over South Loup. The win was familiar territory for Burwell, who now have seven in a row.

Burwell's victory lifted them to 7-0 while Ansley/Litchfield's loss dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Burwell's success rolls on or if Ansley/Litchfield are able to steal their positive momentum.
