Football Recap: Out-Of-Door Academy Piles Up the Points Against IMG Academy State

Out-of-Door Academy came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 43-7 win over the IMG Academy State Ascenders. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Allen Clark was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Out-of-Door Academy also got help from Brady Cleveland, who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Out-of-Door Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Out-of-Door Academy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Aengus Doody and Devin Erdei, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Out-of-Door Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for IMG Academy State, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Out-of-Door Academy will challenge Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Thunder will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for IMG Academy State, they will square off against McLaughlin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
