Basketball Recap: Hillsborough's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hillsborough entered their match against Rutgers Prep on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hillsborough Raiders took a 74-57 bruising from the Rutgers Prep Argonauts. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Argonauts are ranked 32nd).

Despite the defeat, Hillsborough saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aaron Feath posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Albee Jr., who had eight points.

Hillsborough's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Rutgers Prep, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will square off against Hopewell Valley Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hillsborough has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three contests. As for Rutgers Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saddle River Day on Saturday.
