Volleyball Recap: Pinewood Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eastside College Prep last Thursday, Pinewood came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Castilleja Gators on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

While Pinewood ultimately came up short, they really made Castilleja work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 25-19.

Pinewood's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Castilleja, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pinewood will face off against rival Priory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Castilleja is set to challenge their familiar foe Eastside College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
