Baseball Recap: Polk County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Polk County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Patton Panthers on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Noah Harden was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, Gunnar Alm was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mark Jarrett, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Polk County moved to 7-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Patton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Polk County beat the Panthers by a score of 6-5 on Thursday.
