North Judson-San Pierre came tearing into Friday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 win over the West Central Trojans. For the Bluejays, this counts as revenge for the 52-51 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Judson-San Pierre to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyleigh Lehiy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Lehiy is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Avaree Johnston, who posted 11 points and five assists.

North Judson-San Pierre smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why West Central lost, don't look at Madisyn DeMoss. Despite the final result, she earned seven points along with 15 boards and four blocks. DeMoss is becoming a predictor of West Central's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 8-2 (and 2-4 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mellon, who had nine points.

North Judson-San Pierre pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for West Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

North Judson-San Pierre and West Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. North Judson-San Pierre (ranked 90th) will meet Tri-Township (ranked 220th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Judson-San Pierre is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. Similarly, West Central (ranked 195th) will meet Hebron (ranked 393rd) at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
