Baseball Recap: Orangefield Extends Winning Streak to Six

Orangefield came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Anahuac Panthers by a score of 7-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Carson Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ethan Sanders was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Matthew Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Orangefield's record now sits at 14-2. As for Anahuac, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-9-1.

Orangefield will have a chance to go back-to-back against Anahuac: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
