Baseball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland was the 16-3 winner over Horseshoe Bend when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodland Bobcats took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horseshoe Bend Generals on Monday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cade Cross made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Even though they lost, Woodland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Horseshoe Bend, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

While Woodland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
