Basketball Game Preview: Barron Golden Bears vs. Spooner Rails

Barron is a perfect 10-0 against Spooner since November of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Barron Golden Bears will venture away from home to take on the Spooner Rails at 7:00 p.m. Spooner took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Barron, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Barron took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-25 victory over Ashland. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Spooner took a blow against Hayward on Saturday, falling 58-31. The Rails haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

The win made it two in a row for Barron and bumps their season record up to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points over those games. As for Spooner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Barron was able to grind out a solid victory over Spooner in their previous matchup back in January, winning 42-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barron since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
