Football Game Preview: Brentwood Christian Bears vs. Grace Community Cougars

Brentwood Christian is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to take on the Grace Community Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brentwood Christian has three straight wins, Grace Community has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Brentwood Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 56-21 victory over Manor New Tech. The Bears pushed the score to 49-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Manor New Tech had little chance of recovering from.

Brayden Jennings produced another solid effort rushing for 144 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 234 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes. Those 234 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Jennings' aerial production (120 yards to be exact) went to Jack Hansen, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Grace Community challenged New Boston on Friday. The Cougars lost 35-14 to the Lions.

Brentwood Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Grace Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Brentwood Christian came up short against Grace Community when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 42-35. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
