Volleyball Recap: Classical Takes a Loss

Classical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bennington Bulldogs. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Classical's offense was headlined by Kaiah Cravens and Katelyn Brannon, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Anna Schmidt and her ten assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Mara Pickering was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and one assist.

Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 6-26-1. As for Bennington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-6.

Classical wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Central Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Bennington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Sedgwick on the 7th.
