Hawthorne can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Inglewood Sentinels 4-3. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sentinels, too.

Hugo Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Moreno, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Another was Joaquin Arana, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Hawthorne's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Inglewood, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Hawthorne will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sentinels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
