Basketball Recap: Iowa City Takes a Loss

Iowa City and Cedar Falls/Valley Lutheran squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Iowa City had to settle for second. They were beaten by Cedar Falls/Valley Lutheran 80-40. While losing is never fun, the Little Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Cedar Falls/Valley Lutheran are ranked 14th).

Iowa City has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-28 record this season. The victory (which was Cedar Falls/Valley Lutheran's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

As of now, neither Iowa City nor Cedar Falls/Valley Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
