Softball Game Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Midway Raiders

East Duplin is 2-8 against Midway since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Raiders. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Duplin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Manteo. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Midway waltzed into their match on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 11-1 win.

Midway pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. As for East Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

East Duplin came up short against Midway in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 10-7. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
