Basketball Recap: Colorado Academy Comes Up Short

Colorado Academy fought the good fight in their overtime match against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raptors from their previous meeting back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Colorado Academy lost, don't look at Clyde Love. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points and four steals. The game was Love's third in a row with at least ten points. Fletcher Miller was another key player, putting up no points along with nine assists and seven steals.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Udy Umo out in front who went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Umo a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tong Bot, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Colorado Academy fell to 2-1. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
