Taft had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the St. Genevieve Valiants on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Toreadors haven't had any issues with the Valiants recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Taft never let St. Genevieve on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-6, 29-27.

St. Genevieve is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will head out to take on Castaic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Genevieve, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
