Netflix announced plans Monday for a six-part scripted drama series centered around the high school years of
Colin Kaepernick.
"Colin in Black and White" will detail the former NFL quarterback's experiences at
Pitman (Turlock, Calif.) that led him to becoming an activist.
Before moving on to the University of Nevada and the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick was a three-sport star at the Northern California school. In addition to football, he also participated in basketball and baseball.
Kaepernick helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl in 2013 but was out of the NFL by 2017, which some attribute to the controversy around him taking a knee in protest before games during the national anthem.
Netflix didn't announce a release date for the project but confirmed the script was completed last month.
