Volleyball Recap: Newton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newton waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tolono Unity Rockets. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Rockets two weeks ago, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Hydi Bierman paced Newton's offense, picking up five kills. Bierman got some help from Amy Shull and her seven assists.

Newton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Tolono Unity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Newton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Triad on the 20th. As for Tolono Unity, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Waterloo on the 20th.
