Baseball Recap: Opelousas Takes a Loss

If Opelousas was riding high fresh off their 15-2 takedown of Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Opelousas Tigers came up short against the Comeaux Spartans on Thursday, falling 17-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 18-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Opelousas dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Comeaux, their victory ended a 19-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Looking ahead, Opelousas will be playing in front of their home fans against Peabody at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Comeaux, they will take on New Iberia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
