IC Catholic Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-13 win over Chicago Hope Academy. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Chicago Hope Academy are ranked 160th).

It was another big night for Nate Lang, who threw for 257 yards and five TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Will Schmidt also helped with two scores in total.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to IC Catholic Prep's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Bishop McNamara put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Herscher with a sharp 38-14 victory. The Fightin' Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 24 points or more this season.
IC Catholic Prep better keep an eye on Karter Krustinger. He was instrumental in Bishop McNamara's win, throwing for 183 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 56 yards and one TD. Their leading receiver Coen Demack was Krustinger's top target yet again, picking up 95 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Bishop McNamara was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
IC Catholic Prep's record now sits at 7-3. As for Bishop McNamara, their record is now 10-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. IC Catholic Prep has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 379.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like Bishop McNamara struggles in that department as they've been averaging 391.1 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Everything came up roses for IC Catholic Prep against Bishop McNamara in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 47-0 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Fightin' Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
