Baseball Recap: Westminster Academy Gets the Win

While Westminster Academy's victory against JC Bermudez Doral wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Westminster Academy Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the JC Bermudez Doral Thunder on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Westminster Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calvin Martin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Westminster Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. JC Bermudez Doral's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Westminster Academy will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. JC Bermudez Doral will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
