Softball Recap: Ridgeline Academy Eagles vs. Ajo Red Raiders
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ridgeline Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ajo Red Raiders by a score of 9-4. Ridgeline Academy's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Meera Hamieh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Hamieh has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Hamieh was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Mylee Hill was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Gretchen Clower, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Ridgeline Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Ajo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3-1.
