Volleyball Recap: Rockridge Rockets vs. Orion Chargers

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rockridge can now relate to. They fell just short of the Orion Chargers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Rockridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-17, 25-14.

Ellis Hughes paced Rockridge's offense, picking up ten kills. Hughes got some help from Leah Decook and her 13 assists. Lily Bohnsack controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Orion to victory were Allison Taets and Kennedy Debaillie. Taets had seven digs and 15 assists, while Debaillie had ten digs.

Rockridge's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Orion, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 30-6.

Rockridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orion, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Riverdale on the 31st.
