Coal City is a perfect 10-0 against Reed-Custer since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Coalers will host the Comets at 4:30 p.m. Coal City will be strutting in after a win while Reed-Custer will be coming in after a defeat.

Coal City lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Newark, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Coalers blew past the Norsemen 15-9 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Reed-Custer came up short against Wilmington on Friday and fell 8-5. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Reed-Custer's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Coal City, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.

Coal City got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Reed-Custer by a conclusive 13-4 score. Will the Coalers repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
