Basketball Recap: Rolla Beats Hazelwood West for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Rolla entered their tilt with Hazelwood West on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Hazelwood West Wildcats 59-37. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akaela Caquelin, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Dodson, who posted ten points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Rolla's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Hazelwood West, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rolla won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fort Zumwalt North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rolla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Hazelwood West, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hazelwood East at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
