Baseball Recap: Astoria/VIT Takes a Loss

Astoria/VIT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hamilton/Warsaw Titans, falling 9-2. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2019.

Astoria/VIT saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Stambaugh, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Stambaugh's first of the season.

Astoria/VIT's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Astoria/VIT will square off against Beardstown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. We've got a battle between Titans coming up. Monmouth-Roseville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something Hamilton/Warsaw will no doubt try to take advantage of.
