Softball Recap: Adrian Beats Lamar for Their Third Straight Victory

Adrian entered their tilt with Lamar on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 9-4. This was a revenge game for the Blackhawks: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Lizzie Clifton made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Clifton was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harlee Newkirk, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.

Adrian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Adrian's record now sits at 7-9. As for Lamar, their record is now 10-6.

Coincidentally, Adrian and Lamar will both be playing Mt. Vernon the next time they take the field. The Blackhawks will host the Mountaineers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
