Baseball Game Preview: Exeter Township Eagles vs. Wilson Bulldogs

Exeter Township is 2-8 against Wilson since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Exeter Township will venture away from home to square off against Wilson at 4:15 p.m. Exeter Township will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak dating back to last season.

On Monday, Exeter Township got the win against Garden Spot by a conclusive 12-1.

Jake Hafer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hafer was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brenton Feathers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brandon Weller, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Exeter Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garden Spot only posted an OBP of .176.

Meanwhile, while Wilson put up some runs last Monday, the same can't be said for Boyertown. Wilson came out on top against Boyertown by a score of 5-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Wilson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Marmolejos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Tyler Herbein was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Wilson pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Exeter Township, their record is now 3-0.

Exeter Township suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Wilson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Exeter Township avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
