Pickford came out on top against Brimley on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Panthers never let the Bays get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Carter Rye made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gunner Bennin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mac Collins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Pickford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brimley struck out eight times.
Pickford's record now sits at 14-4-1. As for Brimley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Pickford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-5 victory against Rudyard on the 30th. Brimley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
