Itasca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Valley Mills Eagles. On the bright side, the 21- point effort marked the Wampus Cats' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Itasca's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Valley Mills, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Itasca will square off against rival Rio Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Valley Mills is set to take on their familiar foe Dawson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
