Basketball Recap: Brenham Comes Up Short

Brenham was the 33-29 winner over A&M Consolidated when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Brenham Cubs received a blow on Friday as they fell 50-31 to the A&M Consolidated Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Tigers are ranked 271st).

Despite the loss, Brenham still got an impressive performance from Antyianna Lang, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds. Lang is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Brenham's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for A&M Consolidated, their record now sits at 12-10.

Brenham will take on Rudder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for A&M Consolidated, they will welcome Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
